DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A judge has ensured a convicted rapist will never step foot out of jail after being found guilty for the horrifying attack on a young teen.

Two years ago, a 13-year-old girl was walking in the parking lot of her apartment complex when a man chased her into the woods and attacked her.

After a six-day trial last month, a jury convicted Adedoja Olaniyi Bah on 12 counts related to the rape of the young teen.

According to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office, the attack happened on July 25, 2017. The girl was thrown to the ground, held down, raped and sodomized, prosecutors said. He also threatened to kill her if she resisted.

Once the attack was over, the victim ran to an apartment of a family friend to get help. Bah drove away in his car, prosecutors said.

During the investigation, authorities found surveillance video from the apartment complex that they said showed Bah chasing the victim into the woods. They also gathered DNA evidence.

“This man is a predator in every sense of the word, and the only way I know to guarantee that he doesn’t rape another child is to make sure he is never outside of a prison again,” Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Samantha J. Newman said.

Bah faced multiple charges in court: rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, two counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated child molestation, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and battery.

The victim courageously testified during the trial.

The district attorney's office said Bah asked the court to grant him mercy and allow him to return to Nigeria, where he is originally from. But Judge Cynthia Adams sided with the state - not Bah.

"I’m not the one you should be asking for mercy from," she told him during his sentencing.

Adams sentenced him on Nov. 13 to three consecutive life sentences plus an additional 76 years.

“He deserves the sentence he received, and the victim deserves to know that Bah will never, ever, hurt her or anyone else again,” Newman said. “Because of this victim’s strength and bravery in testifying, she has ensured the Defendant won’t be able to prey on another woman or child again.
