A man is dead after he was shot multiple times on Oak Hill Drive in Athens, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Walter James Brown.
Officers were dispatched to reports of the shooting at 8:40 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found Brown on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Police officers tried to help stabilize him until paramedics arrived. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
