Man killed, teen arrested in drug-related shooting incident in unincorporated Lilburn, Gwinnett Police say

Officers said in a Monday update that 28-year-old Terrence Weston is the victim of the incident.

LILBURN, Ga. — A 28-year-old man is dead, and a teen is behind bars after a shooting late Saturday night in unincorporated Lilburn, according to Gwinnett County Police.

Authorities said on Monday that they believe the shooting is drug-related. 

16-year-old Ryan Abreu is facing felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years old, and possession of a firearm during the commission of felony charges. Police said he is also being charged as an adult.

Officers were called out around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday after reports of gunshots and screaming on Gwens Trail.

Once on the scene, police said they found the 28-year-old man, identified as Terrence Weston, shot and killed on Betty Jean Court.

As of this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
