DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The DeKalb County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man in critical condition on Tuesday evening near a CVS Pharmacy parking lot.
The department said that at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Glenwood Road about a person shot. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He's in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The investigation shows the victim was in a vehicle in the parking lot at a CVS when a suspect started shooting at him. The victim then got out of his car and tried to run across the street, but the suspect chased after him, continuing to shoot, police said.
It's unsure if the man was shot while inside of his car or while running across the street.
Police did not say what led up to the shooting.
