ATLANTA — A man was injured after being shot near Spelman College's campus on Thursday night, Atlanta Police said.
Officers responded to Spelman Lane SW, which is a street that runs behind Spelman's campus near buildings such as Laura Spelman Hall, Morehouse-James Hall and several other academic buildings. APD said the shooting happened on McDaniel Street.
Police said the victim was "alert, conscious and breathing" when first responders arrived. It's unclear what led up to the shooting or if police have a suspect in custody yet.
