ATLANTA — A young man who died in a triple drive-by shooting in Atlanta's Mechanicsville neighborhood was identified on Wednesday by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.
Montrevious Pitts is the 18-year-old victim who died in what the Atlanta Police Department is calling a "targeted" shooting where two others were injured. It happened on Jan. 2; Atlanta Police said suspects opened fire inside a white four-door sedan in front of a home in the 300-block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard.
An aunt of one of the victims said it happened on the corner of the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Windsor Street in southwest Atlanta, stating that it sounded like fireworks.
She walked outside after the attack and said she saw three people, including her own nephew, shot. She said all three were rushed to Grady Hospital. Police said one of the victims later died at the hospital.
According to police, the two others were "alert, conscious, and breathing," with the homicide commander, Lt. Germain Dearlove, adding that they were between the ages of 19 and 21.
