ATLANTA — New details have been released by police on the deadly shooting that took place on Kennesaw State University's campus Saturday afternoon.
Kennesaw State University Police confirmed that a female student was the victim of the shooting, which they add occurred in front of the Austin Residence Complex. That victim has since been identified as 21-year-old Alasia Franklin by both the university and family.
At this time, officers believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between the student and the suspect in custody.
Speaking of that suspect, the GBI has identified Samuel Harris of Cairo as the accused shooter. He is being charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Authorities said in their release that Harris is not a student at the university, according to KSU.
