DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Nicholas Earl, a DeKalb County murder suspect who allegedly fired at deputies during a chase on Friday, has been arrested after a dayslong manhunt.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said he was arrested in Douglasville Tuesday morning. Georgia State Patrol confirmed they were involved in the apprehension and said there were "no issues during the arrest."
Earl had been wanted in connection with the June 22 death of Timberre Mims. He now faces additional charges including aggravated assault upon a public safety officer. He also violated parole in connection with an armed robbery charge, the sheriff's office said.
A sheriff's deputy was hurt in an initial chase of Earl on Friday when he evaded arrest. Authorities said he shot at deputies after they spotted Earl in a vehicle around 3 p.m. and pursued him.

Earl worked to evade deputies and fired at a patrol car. One deputy was hurt but it is not clear if he was grazed by a bullet or hurt by shattered glass. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated and is expected to be OK, DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox said, adding that he remains in good spirits.
Earl abandoned the vehicle he was in, according to DeKalb County authorities, and took off toward the woods.
As of Tuesday, he is being held without bond in the DeKalb County Jail.
Editor's note: Authorities have clarified the man's name as Nicholas Earl.
