ATLANTA — An off-duty Atlanta Police officer discharged a weapon and pursued a man armed with a gun on Monday evening, police said.
According to police, shortly after 5 p.m., an APD officer was working an off-duty job on Broad Street SW when he encountered a man armed with a firearm.
During the encounter, the officer discharged his weapon and chased after the man, police said. The suspect was found several blocks away. He had a minor abrasion from the incident and was treated by medical personnel.
Police said there were no injuries as a result of the shooting. This is an ongoing investigation.
