Suspect arrested after 3 shot with 1 dead in Villa Rica, police say

Police said there is no danger to the public and more information will be released at a later date.

VILLA RICA, Ga. — A suspect has been taken into custody after one person was killed during a triple shooting in Villa Rica on Saturday morning, police said. 

According to Villa Rica Police, officers responded to an address off Conners Road in reference to a domestic dispute with shots fired shortly after 6 a.m. 

When they arrived, they found three adults with gunshot wounds. Two were sent to the hospital, but the third died on the scene, police said. The suspect left the area before officers arrived. 

Investigators responded to the scene and were able to identify the suspect as 35-year-old Karlton Sirmons of Norcross, police said. Sirmons was taken into custody shortly after in Cobb County and has been charged with murder, home invasion and other charges pertaining to the incident. 

Police said there is no danger to the public and that the victim will not be identified at this time pending notification of next of kin. The agency said that further information would be released at a later date.
