A Lyft driver in Atlanta said a passenger pulled out a handgun and took her on a ride after canceling his trip with the rideshare app, according to Atlanta Police.
The driver called 911 around 8 p.m. Christmas night and met police on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW. She told police that she picked up a male passenger in Rex, Ga. and began driving. After some time, she noticed that the passenger canceled the ride.
The woman called Lyft for guidance and they advised her to finish the ride and she would be reimbursed. At some point during the ride, the passenger pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and ordered her to keep driving while he gave her directions. The suspect eventually jumped out of the car and ran away on foot.
Nothing was taken from the victim and she was unharmed, according to police. No suspects have been identified.
