PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a phone scam they may encounter during the holiday season.
Deputies noted that they are hearing reports about calls from someone who claims to work for them.
Residents have reported that the person on the other end told them that they missed a court date and that a warrant was out for them.
The scammer then attempts to solicit some form of payment from the caller, whether it be gift cards, bitcoin, or cash.
Deputies continue to urger residents that if they receive such a call, it is a total scam.
