Person shot during robbery by West Midtown restaurants | What we know from police

This happened on Howell Mill Road early Sunday morning.

ATLANTA —  A man was shot early Sunday morning during an apparent robbery on Howell Mill Road in West Midtown.

Officers said they responded around 4 a.m.

They said the victim was approached in a parking lot by folks wearing ski masks in an attempt to rob him.

That's when officers said the man refused and pulled out a gun, firing toward the robbers. However, they managed to shoot back, injuring him.

From there, police said the robbers fled in what appeared to be a silver sedan. According to police, the investigation remains ongoing.

Right now, police said there are no suspects in custody.

The shooting itself took place on a popular stretch of road featuring multiple restaurants, such as Snooze and Hattie B's.
