Man shot, in critical condition after argument near Five Points MARTA station, police say

The victim was shot in the face, police said.

ATLANTA — A man was shot and is in critical condition after an argument in Downtown Atlanta near the Five Points MARTA station, police told 11Alive on Friday morning.

The victim was shot in the face, police said, and APD said they are still looking for the suspect, checking surveillance cameras to see if they can get an identity on him.

Police activity in the area had a portion of Alabama street closed and Broad Street blocked off across from the station. APD told 11Alive one man shot another as their argument continued while they got off the MARTA bus at that intersection.

The MARTA Police Department said in an email to 11Alive that their dispatch reported the "incident happened across the street from the station."

The MARTA Service X account posted: "Route 21: EB & WB trips from Alabama St & Broad St (Five Points) are Blocked, and re-routed due to Police activity. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for riding Marta."
