Deadly apartment shooting resulted from robbery: Gwinnett County Police

Here is what we know.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Editor's note: This story was updated June 7, 2024 to correct the victim's age and to add that the suspect is in custody. The video above is from a previous report.

A 19-year-old is accused of killing another during a deadly shooting at an apartment complex this weekend, Gwinnett County Police said. 

This comes after police responded to 1564 Herrington Road, the location of Herrington Mill Apartments in unincorporated Lawrenceville, on Saturday night. 

Police have identified Raheem Whiteside, 19, of Dacula, as the suspect in the case. He is accused of killing 18-year-old Timothy Henderson of Lawrenceville, police said. Henderson was a resident at the apartment complex, and detectives have determined the murder was the result of a robbery that took place shortly before the shooting, according to police. 

Arrest warrants were issued for Whiteside for malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.  

On June 7, 11Alive learned that the suspect was booked in jail on May 9; he's being held without bond.
