Man flags down police near Candler Park MARTA station after being shot at separate location

The man drove himself to the station after an argument led to gunfire at a separate location, police said.

ATLANTA — Police are investigating after a man who had been shot multiple times flagged down officers near the Candler Park MARTA station Tuesday afternoon. 

Around 1:15 p.m., Atlanta Police responded to 1475 DeKalb Avenue NE and found a 20-year-old male who had been shot. 

According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was at a residence in the 1500 block of Hardee Street NW when he got into an argument with someone else that led to gunfire. After he was shot, he drove himself near the MARTA station to get help. He flagged down MARTA police and was able to make it to the station to receive medical treatment. 

The victim was transported to the hospital alert, conscious and breathing, police said. 

The Atlanta Police Department has since taken over the investigation since it occurred at a separate location
