BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — There may be a break in the case of a woman that was found in a landfill earlier in August.
A woman’s body was found dismembered in a compactor bin at a Bartow County landfill and ever since law enforcement has been asking for help identifying her. They’ve released pictures of her tattoos and a sketch of her face.
Now, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is working to confirm her identity
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, recent information has been released concerning a missing woman from West Virginia.
“Investigators from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office are working with state agencies to positively identify this victim,” he said.
Her cause of death is still under investigation and the sheriff's office set up a hotline due to the volume of tips they've received. They're now encouraging people to call this direct line: 770-387-5100.
They are also asking anyone who visited the compactor facility at 15 Cedar Creek Road on Saturday, Aug. 11 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to call the tip line.
