Second arrest made in Barcelona Wine Bar murder

Carlous Bailey

Atlanta police have issued warrants for a second suspect in the robbery and murder of an employee at the Barcelona Wine bar in late 2017. And that person is already in jail on unrelated charges.

According to Police Chief Erika Shields, homicide investigators were able to find probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Carlous Bailey over his involvement in the incident that left Chelsea Beller dead on Nov. 19. It turns out, Bailey was already arrested in DeKalb County for another crime. Bailey now faces charges of murder and armed robbery.

"Our team of Homicide investigators have worked together to get us where we are today in announcing another arrest in the Barcelona Wine Bar case," Shields said in a statement. "We knew it was only a matter of time before our efforts paid dividends and another suspect was identified."

On Dec. 23, 2017, police arrested Samuel Ott after DNA evidence linked him to the crime. He was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

The investigation continues into the murder, which rocked the Atlanta business community with more suspects expected to be named. Crimestoppers has once again raised the reward by $2,000 with the total now sitting at $40,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 (TIPS). Anonymous tipsters will not be required to testify.
