Police: Seven cars vandalized in Alpharetta restaurant parking lots

According to police, in all but one of the cases, computer equipment was stolen.

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Police in Alpharetta said they discovered seven car windows smashed in the parking lots of restaurants on Mansell Road and North Main Street on Tuesday.

In each of the cases, investigators discovered that all but one of the vehicles had computer equipment stolen.

"Our officers diligently patrol these areas, but the criminals usually work in pairs with a lookout," a social media post from the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said on Wednesday afternoon. "It only takes mere seconds to shatter the glass, grab your backpack, briefcase, etc., and take off."

People are being reminded to secure their property and valuables, even if they are going to be away from their vehicles only for a few minutes while inside a business or even inside their homes.

It does not hurt to remind family and friends, also.

"As always, if you see something that doesn't look right or a person acting suspicious, give us a call," the post goes on to say. "You're not bothering us and you can remain anonymous."
