CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police arrested the man accused of kidnapping and raping a woman Wednesday morning.
Clayton County authorities said the woman was walking to a bus stop near Flint-River Road and Glenwood Drive when she was suddenly kidnapped, taken into a wooded area, robbed and raped.
Clayton County police said they arrived on scene and set up a perimeter around the area where the suspect was last seen running. They were able to catch the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Anthony Barnard Thomas, within the hour.
"Bernard now has accommodations at “The Hill-ton “ where he will have plenty of time to learn how to face the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail," Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill said.
