COVINGTON, Ga. -- A student is facing criminal charges after officials said they committed an armed robbery late last week.

According to a Newton County Sheriff's Office incident report, deputies got a call from staff at Newton High School around 1 p.m. May 5 informing them that a student had been robbed of $50 at gunpoint.
