11Alive reached out to Appliances 4 Less for comment on the incident. They released the following statement, saying: "In the wake of yesterday’s unfortunate incident near our store, our hearts go out to everyone affected. I am Francisco, the proud owner of Appliances 4 Less in Atlanta, and I feel it's important to share our perspective on the events and reaffirm our commitment to the community.
Yesterday, a man came into our store looking quite worried. We did what we always do — offered a helping hand in case he needed anything. He preferred to keep to himself, and that's okay; we respect everyone's space and privacy. Not long after he stepped out, the unexpected chaos of gunshots broke the peace. It was a moment of fear for us all, but my team, especially the store manager, didn't think twice before helping out and calling for help.
We're more than just a store; we're part of this community. We're here to offer not just great deals but also a safe place you can trust. We've been talking with the police to make sure everything is being done to keep our neighborhood safe. And we're here, always here, if you need to talk, or if there's something more we can do to help feel safer when you're with us.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Together, we can and will overcome this, fostering a stronger and more connected community. Your safety, your trust, and your satisfaction will always be our top priorities."
