Shooting at Buckhead club leaves 2 dead, 4 injured: Atlanta Police

This happened at Elleven45 Lounge early Sunday morning.

ATLANTA — Two people are dead and four others wounded after a shooting at an Atlanta lounge early Sunday morning, according to Atlanta Police.

Officers said they received a call about a person shot at Elleven45 Lounge around 2:35 a.m.

The lounge sits at the corner of Peachtree Road and Bennett Street in Buckhead. It released a statement stating its doors will be closed on Sunday.

"We at Elleven 45 are profoundly affected by the recent tragic events. Our hearts go out to all those impacted, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the individuals and families who have suffered loss and injury. The safety and well-being of our patrons and staff have always been our paramount concern. To ensure a thorough investigation in cooperation with local law enforcement, we will be closing our doors today," the statement read.

The club also said that its commitment to security and safety has only strengthened and that it is dedicated to maintaining a safe environment.

At this time, officers said they believed the shooting stemmed from an argument and "physical altercation" inside the club that escalated.

The victims, according to police, are believed to be three men and three women, all between 20 and 30 years old. Authorities have not specified which victims are among the deceased.

There is no word on a suspect right now as police continue to review video from inside the club.

Night scene patrons on social media are now calling for Elleven45 to be shut down, citing a history of violence.

On APD's crime index, the last incident was an aggravated assault in Nov. 2023. 11Alive covered a shooting back in 2020. Shortly after, this petition was created to close the lounge, with over 4,000 signatures.

11Alive attempted to reach out to the owner and employees, but there was no response as of Sunday night. Other city officials weren't available for comment. Several business owners in the same plaza told 11Alive's Tresia Bowles that they still feel safe and it's back to business as usual. A witness said he is traumatized. Neither wanted to speak on camera.

No word on the victim's names. APD said this is still an active investigation.
