ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — A man is critically injured after being shot multiple times at a Rockdale County home Wednesday night and now the suspect is on the run, police said.
Police were called out to the home around 8:50 p.m. after the man was shot at a home along Rock Hill Drive northeast in the Rock Hill neighborhood in Conyers. However, police said they are conducting the investigation at multiple different locations within the county.
When officers arrived to the home, they saw the suspect drive away from the home attempting to elude police. After a pursuit that lasted several minutes, the suspect crashed his car and ran away.
The home is just roughly two miles from Downtown Conyers. Police said they know the identity of the suspect but are not naming him because he is on the run.
They are working three crime scenes at the moment:
- Where the shooting happened
- Where the pursuit ended at an apartment complex off Eastview Circle in Conyers
- Rockdale Piedmont Hospital -- where the victim is currently in critical condition
