2 arrested in connection to 26-year-old's shooting death at Atlanta apartment complex, police say

The shooting happened at the Dwell at Hollywood Apartments near Woodward Baptist Church and the Loving Care Daycare Center—not far from Center Hill Park.

ATLANTA — Two people were arrested after a 26-year-old man was shot and killed at an Atlanta apartment complex on Wednesday, according to the police department.

The shooting happened at 1073 Hollywood Road NW, the address of the Dwell at Hollywood Apartments in Atlanta's Almond Park neighborhood. The apartment complex is near Woodward Baptist Church and the Loving Care Daycare Center—not far from Center Hill Park.

When officers arrived at the apartments, police found the 26-year-old unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead by EMS, APD said. 

The Fulton County Medical Examiner later identified the man who was killed as Deterious Postell.

In an update on Monday, APD said arrest warrants were obtained on Friday against 26-year-old Jakell Floyd. Arrest warrants were also obtained on Saturday against 24-year-old Adonijah Yisrael.

Floyd is facing charges of murder and possesion of a firearm during the commission of a felony. APD said he's currently in custody at the DeKalb County Jail for unrelated charges. 

Meanwhile, APD said Yisrael is facing murder, hindering the apprehension of punishment of a criminal, false statements, tampering with evidence and obstruction. 

Yisrael was taken to the Fulton County Jail, according to APD.
