Suspect shoots, kills 2 people in Smyrna before dying by suicide, Cobb County Police say

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Police are investigating a deadly double shooting on Thursday afternoon that later led to the accused suspect dying by suicide.

According to police, it all happened in the 4800 block of South Cobb Drive in Smyrna. Initial details led police to believe that the suspect approached the establishment and fatally shot the two victims before driving off. 11Alive crews went to the scene.

The suspect's car was later spotted by police via Flock cameras near the intersection of the East-West Connector and Power Springs Road, police said. Officers later spotted the vehicle heading toward Macland Road on Ernest Barrett Parkway.

As officers attempted to stop the suspect, they stopped and took their life, according to Cobb Police. Authorities said the shooting was isolated between the victims and the suspect. There is no threat to the public, the police department said.
