ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are trying to determine the circumstances leading up to a shooting that happened not far from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Thursday.
APD said it appears it was a dispute over money between two people who might have been selling water.
Police said officers were flagged down in the area of Northside Drive and M.L.K. Jr. Drive. by a person who told them he had been shot.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
"Preliminary investigation revealed the two males were involved in water sales at the location and got into a verbal dispute over money; that dispute then escalated to gunfire," APD said.
APD believes the suspect left the scene on foot.
No other details about what happened were released.
