ATLANTA — Police are working to find shooters who they said opened fire at a family gathering Monday night in southeast Atlanta that hurt a 50-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl who is pregnant.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Monday night near the South Bend Center for Art and Culture off Compton Drive, near Lakewood Avenue.

According to early information from police, first responders with Grady EMS got to the scene and found the man shot. They took him to the hospital and later learned that the 17-year-old had separately been taken to the hospital for treatment.

At this time, police said it appears that the two victims were at the park during a family gathering when the suspects drove to the entrance and shot toward the gathering. According to information on scene, it's possible the two victims knew the shooter or shooters.

Right now, investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. There was no early information on a description of the car or the suspects who were driving it.
