Dispute between two people leads to deadly shooting at South Fulton restaurant

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Syfee Westmoreland.

ATLANTA — A fight between two people led to gunfire at a South Fulton restaurant Thursday evening, according to police. 

Police Chief Keith Meadows said officers responded to the call at The Fried Rice King, which is located in the 7400 block of Old National Highway.

Meadows said one of the people involved pulled out a gun and shot the other person. 

The injured victim was taken to the hospital where they later died. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Syfee Westmoreland.

The suspect was identified as Evanson Morin and he was detained, Meadows said.

According to jail records, Morin is being charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
