ATLANTA — A man is behind bars after opening fire on a driver who was dropping somebody off at the South Terminal of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Wednesday, police said.

Atlanta Police said that officers responded to 6000 South Terminal Parkway just before 2 p.m. after hearing reports of gunshots being fired.

Officers said they spoke with the victim there, who said he was in a road rage incident with another man after dropping off a client on the lower level of the South Terminal.

The victim told police that the suspect got extremely upset at him while they were in the line at the South Terminal and ultimately ended up side-swiping his car before taking a gun out and firing several shots at him, police said.

Police said the victim had minor injuries and damage to his car.

Atlanta Police Department's Auto Crimes Unit canvassed the area and found the suspect to be in the area of 4210 Moreland Ave. SE, not far from the airport. Officers arrested a 29-year-old man and are expected to file charges against him, the department said.
