16-year-old shot in South Fulton, taken to hospital

Police said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A 16-year-old was shot in South Fulton early Monday morning, police said.

There were  few details initially available. South Fulton Police noted his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

A statement from the department said the teen reported being shot in the area of Campbellton Fairburn Road/Hwy. 92 and Jones Road. They added he then drove down a ways to a gas station in neighboring Union City before being taken to a hospital for treatment.

It was not clear what circumstances surrounded the shooting.
