HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A student was arrested Thursday after Henry County Police said they were found with a gun before going into a middle school.

Henry County Police's school resource officers responded to a tip that a student had intended to bring a gun onto the campus of Woodland Middle School.

The student was identified during the investigation, and police said they safely recovered a gun from the student before they were able to enter the building around 8:40 a.m.

The student was taken into custody and charged with possession of pistol/revolver by person under 18 and carrying weapon in school safety zone, both felonies.

It's unclear at this time how old the student was that was arrested. 11Alive is reaching out to the school district for more information.

The incident came just one day after four people -- two students and two teachers -- were shot and killed at Apalachee High School in Winder.

And on both Thursday and Friday, six people were arrested across multiple school districts in Georgia for making threats related to school shootings. Those are just a few of more than a dozen reports of school threats that we have received since Wednesday's deadly mass shooting.
