LAGRANGE, Ga. — A suspect was arrested following an hourslong SWAT standoff at a home in LaGrange on Tuesday, according to police.
LaGrange Police said that Georgia State Patrol's SWAT team assisted its department in arresting a suspect wanted for burglary and other family violence offenses. The suspect was barricaded inside the home.
The incident happened at a home along Norwood Drive in LaGrange. Police had asked residents to avoid the area as they worked on trying to get the suspect out of the home. LaGrange High School was on lockdown as a precaution for a period of time but then resumed normal operations.
Neighbors told 11Alive this standoff had been going on since Tuesday morning.
