Bond denied for 19-year-old woman charged in West End McDonald's shooting

T'Niya Evans is being charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property.

ATLANTA — A 19-year-old woman faced a Fulton County Superior Court judge to learn if she would be granted bond after allegedly shooting and killing a woman at West End McDonald's earlier this week.

On Friday, bond was denied for T'Niya Evans, according to a court document.

Evans is being charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property.

Atlanta Police gave more insight into the deadly shooting on Friday in a new video where they stated that the firearm used in the deadly shooting was stolen from a vehicle break-in. Authorities added that the shooting stemmed from an escalated dispute.

30-year-old Tamanika Woods was found shot on Wednesday afternoon at the 1100 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW near the intersection of Queen Street. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died. She was a mother of four children.

"It's very senseless," said Major Peter Malecki with the Atlanta Police Department. "And unfortunately in this case uh we have a 30-year-old resident of our city uh who's a mother of four who lost her life."

Video from 11Alive crews at the scene show police tape outside the restaurant and its parking lot, with several officers and police cruisers parked along the street.

Evans' next court date is on Jan. 19 where she will learn if she will be indicted on the charges she is facing.

A vigil will be held for Woods on Friday at 4 p.m. across from the McDonald's where the shooting happened. Family has asked those who would like to support to bring royal blue and white balloons.
