ATLANTA — A teenager was shot while walking in Atlanta's Fairburn Mays neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The Atlanta Police Department said just after 4:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot around the 400 block of Fairburn Road SW. When they arrived, they said they found a 17-year-old boy who had a gunshot wound. The victim was conscious and was taken to the hospital.
Police said that preliminary information revealed the teen was walking the area when he heard gunfire and was then shot. Atlanta Police investigators with the aggravated assault unit responded to try and figure out what led up to him being shot.
