ATLANTA — A family said they feel a sense of closure after the person accused of shooting and killing an Atlanta father is now in custody.
Loved ones continue to mourn 35-year-old Tyrone Hardesty. They said he was the victim of an Atlanta apartment shooting last month.
Atlanta Police Department officers were called to 2423 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. SW on Dec. 22 for a shooting. The address is to The Peaks at MLK apartments off Interstate 20.
Once they arrived, they found a man shot dead inside a vehicle. Police said they arrested 19-year-old Marquez Williams on Wednesday in connection with the case.
Williams was taken into custody by APD's fugitive unit, accused of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Officers did not give details of a motive.
Hardesty's parents said he was a father to a 2-year-old girl.
