Valet driver arrested in plot to steal Escalade from downtown Atlanta Westin Hotel

The valet was captured on surveillance video trading the Cadillac Escalade to an unknown man for cash, according to police.

ATLANTA — A valet at the Westin Hotel on Peachtree Street, NW, in downtown Atlanta has been arrested for allegedly stealing a customer’s Cadillac Escalade with the help of another person, according to Atlanta Police.

Jarvis Davis, 24, is accused of taking the keys from the valet booth without anyone noticing and handing it off to an unknown man.

Officers were called to the hotel on Sunday, Jan. 27 after the assistant valet manager noticed that one of his vehicles was missing while doing an inventory of the parking garage. The manager said that he didn’t have the keys for a 2009 Cadillac Escalade but the ticket was still present at the valet stand.

The employee told police that he checked the surveillance video and saw Davis take the keys from the check-in booth without anyone noticing. The cameras showed him pulling the car out of the parking area and handing it off to another man, who was not the owner of the Escalade, just before midnight.

The unknown man who took the car was seen on security video exiting the employee elevator at the Westin near the valet booth. He waited behind the valet door until he was flagged down by Davis in a “hurried motion,” according to the police report.

Davis was spotted on camera handing him the keys in exchange for cash. The man claimed the car without using a valet ticket, according to the report.
