Woman dead, man in custody following dispute that led to SWAT response in Carroll Heights neighborhood: police

ATLANTA — A 68-year-old woman is now dead, and a man is facing charges after police responded to reports of a dispute that led to a SWAT response in the Carroll Heights neighborhood Monday evening, according to Atlanta Police. 

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Alicia Hollins. 37-year-old Allen Wilson was taken into custody and faces murder charges in her death. 

It happened on Mercury Drive around 8:21 p.m. when officers responded to the call. When police arrived, they found a man who refused to comply with police orders. 

Authorities said the department deployed SWAT units to make the scene safe. They later found the woman dead on the scene. 

It's unclear how the woman died, but officers are calling the investigation a homicide. 

No other information was released as investigators determined the circumstances surrounding the incident.
