ATLANTA — A woman has been charged with murder after police say she stabbed a man to death.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to the 300 block of Cleveland Ave around 10:50 Thursday morning for reports of a person stabbed.

When they got there, they found a man, 40-year-old Mandarius Humphrey, with a single stab wound to the chest. First responders transported him to Atlanta Medical Center South off Cleveland Avenue, but he ultimately died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released

Atlanta Police were able to find the suspect, 41-year-old Tajuana Bailey. Officers determined that there was a verbal altercation between the victim and Bailey shortly before the stabbing.

Bailey was transported to the Fulton County Detention Center.

She waived her first appearance during a hearing July 6, and a judge denied her bond. She's scheduled to have a first appearance July 7 at 9:30 a.m.
