ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — A Rockdale County man is accused of killing his wife after she was found dead in a driveway on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call of a woman screaming and gunshots fired on Griffin Mountain Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. When they arrived, deputies found a woman dead lying in the driveway of a residence. The sheriff's office has since identified the woman as Clordette Hester.
Her husband, Walter Hester, was taken into custody and is accused of killing his wife, the sheriff's office said. He faces charges including felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission, or attempt to commit certain felonies.
According to the sheriff's office, the investigation remains ongoing.
