ATLANTA — Authorities found a woman dead at a house in southwest Atlanta on Monday night.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to a welfare check on the 2200 block of Sandridge Pl SW after 6 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, Atlanta Fire Rescue was requested to force entry into the residence.
Once inside, they located a woman who had multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police.
APD Homicide Unit investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
