ATLANTA — A woman was shot and killed Tuesday night in southeast Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as 32-year-old Courtney Reese.
Around 9 p.m. on Aug. 20, officers were called to 40 Springside Drive SE after reports of a shooting. According to Google Maps, that's about a 6-minute walk from The SAVE Institute High School.
When officers arrived, they found Reese, who had been shot multiple times. Despite efforts to save her, she did not survive.
Investigators are now looking into what led to the shooting. Details are still limited as the investigation is ongoing, and more information may come out as things progress.
