Woman critically hurt after shooting in Gwinnett County, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police are investigating a domestic dispute that ended in one woman being shot. 

Police said officers responded to the 1300 block of Ivey Pointe Drive, which is in unincorporated Lawrenceville, around 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the back of her shoulder. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to police, 37-year-old Anthony Young, of South Carolina, is accused of shooting the woman. He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

Young's whereabouts are currently unknown, and preliminary information indicates the shooting happened from an isolated domestic incident between the couple.
