'Not a proper regard for the judicial system': Judge revokes 5 years probation for key YSL witness

Antonio Sledge, better known as Mounk Tounk, violated the terms of his plea agreement during his testimony in the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

ATLANTA — A judge revoked five years of probation from a key YSL trial witness after he violated his plea agreement with the court.

Antonio Sledge, better known as Mounk Tounk, violated the terms of his plea agreement during his testimony in the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

Sledge, a former co-defendant in the case, took a plea deal in December 2022, agreeing to testify truthfully about criminal activities involving Young Slime Life (YSL).

Sledge "knowingly and willfully" contradicted key elements of his plea deal while on the stand last month, according to a motion filed by the District Attorney’s Office,

Judge Paige Whitaker, who also oversees the proceedings for the YSL trial, agreed with prosecutors in the fact that he violated the terms of his plea deal.

He agreed to testify -- truthfully -- about criminal activities. In return, he was sentenced to 15 years of probation.

But on Friday, part of that probation was revoked.

"There is just not a proper regard for the judicial system and the seriousness with which an oath in court needs to be taken," Whitaker explained. "I view this much more akin to perjury than a technical violation, and the sentence for perjury is up to 10 years."

The judge went on to say that she appreciates that Sledge has stayed out of trouble and she commends him for that and that she hopes the revocation doesn't set him back, but she finished by saying, "We've got to take seriously the court system."

Sledge's attorneys asked if he could turn himself in and make arrangements first, to which Whitaker replied by saying, "I think y'all new when you came in there that this was a strong possibility. So, no, I'm sorry."
