ATLANTA, Ga. -- Retired 11Alive anchor Jill Becker was honored at the 2nd annual Believe Ball for CURE Childhood Cancer over the weekend at the St. Regis in Buckhead.

Becker's son survived childhood cancer and in the three years since she has retired, she has been able to devote herself completely to the non profit, which focuses on support and research into childhood cancer.

Several children featured in reports from 11Alive attended the ball. Chip Madren, an 18 year old brain tumor survivor was there with his parents and his Canine Assistants dog, Vera.

Mary Elizabeth Paris, the 12-year-old girl who loves Napoleon Dynamite, came with her parents. She has undergone two bone marrow transplants and continues to fight cancer.

And sisters Elena and Olivia Tate came with their parents. Olivia has survived a brain tumor twice. And Elena survived leukemia, thanks to a trial that was funded exclusively by CURE.

The ball raised close to a million dollars. Click here to donate to CURE.
