Before the biggest football game of the year is held in Atlanta, Delta Air Lines will host an event to bring awareness to human trafficking.
It's the third year for the #GetOnBoard event. Delta officials said the National Human Trafficking Awareness Day event will be held at the Delta Air Lines Flight Museum on Delta Boulevard in Atlanta on Friday, Jan. 11.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, along with actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, will be in attendance. Mayor Bottoms will share how human trafficking is fought in Atlanta.
Efforts against human trafficking have beefed up widely around the metro.
In August, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation teamed up with local convenience stores and gas stations to teach clerks the warning signs and post fliers promoting a human trafficking hotline in the bathroom stalls, one of the only places for a person to be alone and ask for help.
A new law in East Point also hopes to crack down on the problem. Bars, clubs, gas stations and other designated businesses are required to post a sign with a hotline number saying they're a "safe haven" for victims of human trafficking.

Even last week, the Georgia attorney general's office and other entities teamed up for the #StopTraffick event. Seventy-two school buses were sent out into the streets, which organizers said was enough to fit the 3,600 children sold into sex slavery in Georgia each year. The coordinators hoped the unique bus line-up would generate more awareness around sex trafficking.
The Delta event scheduled for Friday will just be another way to generate awareness in the metro. Also planning to speak at the event is founder of Free Our Girls, Megan Lundstrom. She is also a survivor of human trafficking.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will last until 1 p.m.
The Super Bowl is set for Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
