GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — One person died after a crash in Gwinnett County Monday night.
According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Langford Road outside of Norcross.
The driver of a black Lexus, 24-year-old Harry Nguyen of Duluth, was headed east on Old Norcross Road in the right lane. Police claim he was trying to pass several cars before his lane merged with the other lane.
A man in a white Chevrolet Astro van was driving along Old Norcross Road in the opposite direction of Nguyen. Police said Nguyen lost control of his car as he tried to pass the other vehicles and he went into the westbound lane.
His Lexus rotated and was hit by the Astro van on the passenger side.
Nguyen died from his injuries. The Astro van driver and his passenger had minor injuries, Gwinnett Police said.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
