EAST POINT, Ga. — Robbie Pemberton shows off the well-decorated spare bedroom in her home.
“They probably won’t be staying inside here very much because they’ll be enjoying the festivities. But it’s nice comfortable and cozy,” she said.
There are thousands of postings on Airbnb from people like Pemberton in the East Point area, who are willing to open their homes for the first time. The hope cashing in on Superbowl visitors. Some listings are more than $1,000 a night, but Pembertons is asking a far more reasonable $218.
Pemberton explained, “We kind of realized, son’s gone away to college. Daughter’s gone. We have this extra space let’s see if someone would want to stay here."
So far, no bookings for Pemberton. But she’s optimistic and looking forward to being the perfect host.
“It’s gonna be a great game. This is a wonderful city. It’s a great opportunity for us as southerners to be hospitable and show people our southern hospitality." Pemberton said.
