ATLANTA -- School supply shopping doesn’t have to break the bank. School districts, churches, and other organizations all over the metro area are giving away school supplies free of charge. We’ve compiled a list of events to help wallets everywhere.
Fulton County
ReNew Atlanta’s Back to School Festival:
ReNew Atlanta is giving students a backpack full of school supplies, free haircut/braiding, health screenings, food, drinks, prizes and games.

Columbia Residential’s Back to School Bash:
Columbia Residential in partnership with Variety the Children's Charity will provide between 1,000-1,200 backpacks and school supplies to students.
Food, music, activities, entertainment, and prize giveaways

Faith Ame Zion Church’s Back to School Bash:
Faith Ame Zion Church will give students free school supplies, haircuts, and provide fun activities.

Georgia DOE:
The Georgia Department of Education will have free backpacks full of school supplies for students, exhibitors, activities, immunizations, health screenings, educational after school and community resources

THE FINE PRINT: This event is exclusively for Atlanta Public School students and families. To get free school supplies, students have to present their APS report card. Immunizations require pre-registration.
Hosea Helps’ School Supply Distribution Program:
Hosea Helps is giving away free backpacks full of school supplies, supplies for teachers, free produce at a mini farmer’s market, free clothes for women and children, basic health screenings, and medical consults. The event will also have entertainment, a cookout, and activities.
