GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Students at several Gwinnett County Public Schools will have access to free breakfast, thanks to a program the district is participating in.
Special Assistance Alternative Provision 2 is a federal program that allows a school or district to offer meals to all students at no charge.
The following schools are participating in the program:
Elementary: Alcova, Alford, Anderson-Livsey, Annistown, Arcado, Baggett, Baldwin, Beaver Ridge, Benefiled, Berkeley Lake, Bethesda, Britt, Cedar Hill, Centerville, Chesney, Corley, Dacula, Ferguson, Graves, Harris, Hopkins, Jackson, Jenkins, Kanodeda, Knight, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Lovin, Magill, McKendree, Meadowcreek, Minor, Mountain Park, Nesbit, Norcross, North Metro Academy, Norton, Partee, Peachtree, Pharr, Rockbridge, Rosebud, Shiloh, Simonton, Stripling, Sycamore, Taylor Trip, Winn Holt
Middle: Berkmar, Dacula, Duluth, Grace Snell, Jordan, Lilburn, Moore, Northbrook, Radloff, Richards, Shiloh, Snellville, Summerour, Sweetwater
High: Berkmar, Central Gwinnett, Discovery, Duluth, McClure, Meadowcreek, Norcross, Paul Duke STEM, Shiloh, South Gwinnett
Special Entities: GIVE East, GIVE West, International Transition Center
According to a GCPS press release, the program will be implemented only at breakfast, not lunch. Families at Provision 2 schools, or others who think they qualify, can complete an application to receive free and reduced-price lunch.
